BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMMITMENTS
The following are guidelines for the working board and prospective board members of AFCI.
Vision: A world where LGBTQ persons are accepted, loved, and nurtured by their families in a safe and supportive home
Mission: Ending rejection of LGBTQ youth by advocating for them and educating their families
AFCI Board Members support the mission and vision of AFCI by:
- Attending regularly scheduled board meetings
- Currently scheduled every other month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)
- Attending AFCI Annual Meeting in March
- Sharing AFCI resources via Facebook, Twitter, and with contacts
- AFCI Education Center – understandinggay.org
- Attending AFCI fundraisers and inviting friends and associates
- Share talents and skills in planning fundraisers
- Seeking corporate sponsors and donations from contacts
- Reviewing all the online resources annually to have a working knowledge of what we offer
- Enhancing the work of AFCI by volunteering in areas that align with personal skill sets
- Technology
- Web Design
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- Education
- Representing AFCI at conferences
- Fundraising
- Recruitment
- Organization and Leadership
- Offering ideas and help to other board members
- Contributing financially to the work of AFCI (There is no expected minimum nor maximum)
